Comment on The Bread of Life by Michael Gormley

I would like to start by asking you two questions. One: Can you can give an accurate definition of the phrase: "Lamb of God"? We all know that this is one of the names used for Jesus, like Messiah, Savior, Son of Man, or Christ. But exactly what is the importance of the name "Lamb of God"? And why is it important to me as a Catholic? The second question I would like to ask you is: Why the Catholic Church would offer The Holy Eucharist every day at every Mass throughout the world in over 3000 languages. What knowledge do they have that would make them feel compelled to do this for thousands of years? In answering this question, we'll see why the Catechism of the Catholic Church states that "The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life.'" (CC 1324)

Comment on How Many are in a Troop? by Jill and John Beasley

Sometimes the usage for 'troops ' is more colloquial - we would say - "Call in the troops for dinner" or if extra help is needed - "We'd better call in the troops". It would seem that the two usages - military and a common usage as in the Oxford Dict. (English) - have been 'mixed'. I have an old Pocket Oxford Dictionary (which is also now available on-line at AskOxford.com) that gives the following:
Set of congregated persons or animals esp. one on the move or just arrived or about to depart (troops of friends to see him off) etc.

I like the AskOxford site. Think you can also download their dictionary, or buy it.

Thank you for this reminder of how God's will works. Sometimes I think that God is moving me all over the place, when in reality He is always moving me in one direction, toward him. I am the one who is constantly taking "side trips" on my walk. This also reminds me of a recurring dream I had where I was lost and could not find my way back to freeway, but then I was able to find my way back to freeway through the help of others I ran into along my adventure. Thank you for sharing the Word with me this morning! Mike

Forgive me for not addressing the topic of the current post; I bumbled over here via your comment on my imminent Scion, through your defunct Blogger blog, and have been enjoying your current page.

Thanks for the name idea for the new car! You win.
